The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program at IIIT Vadodara will address the growing demand for highly skilled professionals in the field of computer science and information technology. Leveraging IIIT Vadodara's strong foundation in technology education and research, the MCA program will emphasize hands-on learning, industry collaboration, and innovation. The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical applications, preparing graduates for leadership roles in the IT industry, academia, and entrepreneurship.
Objective
The objectives of the MCA program at IIIT Vadodara are:
1. Advanced Knowledge and Skills: To provide in-depth knowledge in computer science and IT, fostering expertise in software development, system design, and emerging technologies.

Duration of the Program
Three Years (Six semesters)
Broad Program Credit Structure
The proposed credit structure and the courses have been designed based on the discussions and deliberations in the committee on program objectives and also considering curricula of similar programs offered by other national institutes. The fixation of the credit distribution is based on the NEP 2020 guidelines. The table below presents the credit distribution for the proposed programs.

Eligibility Criteria
Indian Nationals securing at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in case of SC/ ST/PwD) in
(i) Any UG program of minimum Three years with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects.
OR
(ii) B.E./ B.Tech. from a recognized University/Institution are eligible to appear for NIMCET-2024.
Note: Conversion of scored marks from CGPA to percentage and vice-versa is not permitted. CGPA other than 10-point scale will be converted to 10-point scale based on unitary method.
Admission Process
The admission in MCA programme will be based on an all India entrance examination NIMCET score. The admission criterion for MCA will be the same as decided by the NIMCET committee. The institute may conduct SPOT admissions after conclusion of the NIMCET admission process for available seats.
